'Working From Home Wake'. A euphemism.

 

When an organisation allows the director to 'work from home' on a regular ad hoc basis, here are the effects;

 

Working from home meant documents being continually lost.

Working from home meant decisions not being taken.

Working from home meant recruitment sign off was not timely.

Working from home meant other people having to do the work.

Working from home cost money as new recruits gave up and went elsewhere.

Working from home negatively impacted on health in communities.

Working from home meant not really working.

Working from home meant deadlines were not met.

Working from home led to suspicion of lack of personal integrity.

Working from home meant others got away with bullying because they weren't managed.

Working from home led to demoralisation.

Working from home resulted in complaints from other managers.

Working from home led to complaints to the executive.

Working from home meant being transferred out of the organisation.

Working from home meant personal vendettas were played out in the organisation.

Working from home meant things were just winged in meetings.

Working from home meant a leadership and strategy vacuum.

The 'worker' 'working from home' waited for a senior manager to go on leave before advertising his job. Done in the hope that he would miss the ad, fail to apply for it and lose his position. Nasty.
