Vastu, an ancient Indian science of structure, has suggested how man can be in harmony with nature and benefit from it without affecting the eco-balance.
Charles Dickens described this world as "Hard Time" and we are living in it. The value systems that have been a part of our lives are being eroded by tension and pressure, which go hand-in-hand with economic growth. Our epic and scripture contain the old values, so we find ourselves drawn to them. We can see that man is engaging in activities that are harmful to the existence of the planet and its ecosystems.
If our Sages and Saints knew this, then why is it that we, the current generation of human beings who claim to be more knowledgeable about the law of science or nature, are not able to grasp it? Even if we did, we don't want to use it for short-term gain.
Vastu advised that one should be in harmony with nature to get the best out of life. We will be looking at the direction one should face if he or she is seated in the west corner of an office. West is considered a weak corner when it comes to solar energies. It can also be called a weak spot for bosses to sit in. Solar energies aren't like magnetic energies, where there must be a maximum difference between positive and negative to achieve the best results. Vastu states that it is best to have positive solar direction and be in a positive location when you want to get the best results.
Vastu says that a boss should be sitting in the west corner if he sits in any of these directions.
1) North: This is, according to Vastu, a good direction to work in. It's a positive magnetic direction that will allow one to make faster decisions.
2) South: According to Vastu, it is best to avoid facing south while sitting in the west. This could lead to one taking negative decisions or west preventing one from making any decisions.
3) East: According to Vastu, this is a positive direction. However, if it is in a negative place, the positive effects of this direction will be minimized. This can make the boss more creative, but also indecisive.
4) West: According to Vastu, the boss cannot make a decision if he is sitting in west or face to face. The boss won't be able take a decision, positive or negative. If he does, it may be negative. The boss who is too indecisive may have to rely upon someone else to manage the company, which could be very bad.
5) Northeast: According to Vastu, this direction will negate the negative effects of west location quite a bit and put boss on a positive side. However, it is still not very optimistic. If your cabin is in west, this would be the best direction to face the boss.
6) Northwest: This is a common direction as per North Facing House Vastu, but it is possible to face this direction if one is in marketing.
7) Southeast: This is a normal direction according to Vastu. It can nullify some negative effects from west so it is best not to go this way.
8) Southwest: Do not face the west while sitting in negative locations.
