All selections are MONO except Tr. 15-19,24,27-37,39 are STEREO

All selections never officially released except Tr. 01-05 which appeared on the Super Deluxe edition of Grrr! (2012). These were sourced from a bootleg with lesser sound than the one used here, except Tr. 03 for which they used a scratchy acetate. Although Tr. 03 has tape warble and was spliced together from two different sources on the bootleg, it still has much better fidelity overall. Tr. 13 appears only on the ultra-rare first British pressing of the 1st album and appears here for the first time in near-mastertape quality.

Producer: Andrew Oldham except Glyn Johns (Tr. 01-05), Eric Easton (co-producer Tr. 10-13), Jimmy Miller (Tr. 27-39)
Engineers (where known): Glyn Johns (Tr. 01-05, 26-34,37,39), Bill Farley (Tr. 07-13), Jim Mine (Tr. 14), Ron Malo (Tr. 15-18, 20-22), Dave Hassinger (Tr. 23-25), Jimmy Johnson (Tr. 35-36) Jimmy Miller (Tr. 38)

Audio Research & Sources Selected by JWB
Track selection, LP Transfer (Tr. 13) & Audio Mastering by PS

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note:

This compilation was made with both die-hard collectors and more casual Rolling Stones fans in mind. We have auditioned material with high quality sound only and we have attempted to find an appealing mixture of historically important recordings, outtakes and interesting alternates. JWB sent me a total of 93 quality recordings to choose from and this is what I came up with. The tracks that did not make it were mostly alternative mixes of previously released recordings or unreleased performances that I thought lacked quality. Opinions may vary, of course, but the audio source info above should steer you in the right direction, if you wanna hear more.

I have taken the liberty to edit two songs (Still A Fool & Potted Shrimps) because I believe it has greatly improved their listenability. Where necessary, the playing speed has been corrected and stereo images have been restored. Everything was remastered for optimal coherent sound with regard for dynamical range and sonic signature of the mixes.
