All mono recordings were mastered from a single stereo channel, except on selected parts of Tr. 1, 2, 3, 6 & 9 L+R folding was done.

Notes:
Though absent on the recent 50th anniversary edition, this rare mono mix is really the only way this album should be heard. It was
reissued only once after the 1960's on a limited 2011 vinyl edition (which I haven't heard yet but I'd definitely like to check
it out).
As for the music itself, this is The Dead still in their infant stage. The music is not yet as psychedelic as the sleeve promises.
And it has to be said; some of the tracks have not held up too well, but there are also some gems in here (my favorites: "Golden Road",
"Cold rain & Snow" & the haunting rendition of "Morning Dew"). The band was clearly still searching for a musical direction and would
go on to explore further on the next few albums.
